Model Making Enthusiast Shows Off 'Wheelie' Good Idea At Bike Night

A wheelie is the oldest motorcycle trick in the book, and I've wanted to be able to pop a decent one since I first threw my leg over a bike aged 16. After seven years of riding, I was still unable to pull one off, which is where the team at I Want to Wheelie come in. It's definitely better for city driving with its ability to weave through traffic, however, its acceleration also has a funny way of lunging inexperienced riders forward. I don't profess to be a Harley guy at all, but apparently the bikes are modified Street Bobs and pretty farm removed from the large, sometimes slow, loud as hell, cruisers I normally associate with the HD brand.

It might be dangerous, and we dont ask that you try this at home, but how cool is the concept of Harley Wheelies. Riding a traditional trike arrangement is a bizarre experience for a vet motorcycle rider. The 1200 Sportster is a great bike not just because it's the underdog of the Harley family, but for its overall versatility.

In the world of stunt riders, wheelies are a right of passage. We just wish riders would perform motorcycle stunts on a closed course, not on the open road. Trikes like the Harley-Davidson Tri Glide are always going to seem weird to seasoned motorcyclists, especially younger, fit male riders.

And, just like the guys and gals who do tricks on their sports bikes, there are plenty of fails when things go wrong. The motorcycle industry, in general, has been having problems attracting new riders, and the push toward electric bike development is seen as a way of bringing in new, tech-savvy people (with money, usually) to motorcycling.

The CVO Tri Glide gets Harley's "Kahuna Collection" hand grips. There was a fellow biker that I know who received a devastating brain injury after being struck by a car while riding his motorcycle. These can occur by a crazy mix of circumstances that result in you hitting the throttle and manipulating your clutch in just the right way as you run your front tire into an obstacle in the road.

Those who may be skeptical that anyone harley wheelies would want a trike priced at nearly $50k should know that the Tri Glide was the most requested model in the history of CVO. Unlike its rivals, Harley-Davidson has refused to discount its bike prices even as competition has intensified in recent years, a decision that analysts such as Jaime Katz of Morningstar argue has helped protect the integrity of Harley's brand.
